Our History
In 1980, immediately after his high school graduation, Timothy David Thomas started his own business in remodeling and new home construction.
In 1982, Tim began working as a subcontractor for local stove dealers, installing stoves & chimneys. The business expanded to include the sales of … along with the installation of … wood, pellet and gas stoves; and all types of chimney construction, service, and repairs.
In 2009 the company name was changed from, “Tim Thomas Carpenter & Chimney Sweep”, to “Thomas’ Chimneys and Stoves, LLC”. What did not change is Tim’s sterling reputation for good quality products & services associated with him and his team of competent employees over these 30+ years.
Today, Tim is recognized as an experienced chimney professional; having 28 years in chimney construction, inspection, service and repair. During this time period he has sold, installed, and maintained thousands of gas, pellet and woodstoves for as many satisfied customers.
Tim is certified with the Chimney Safety Institute of America, Home Improvement Contractors, and has held certification with WHERF, (Wood Heating Energy Research Foundation) since 1990; he was invited into the Small Business Network, Inc. in 2000, and has been a select member of the Better Business Bureau since 2008.
Tim has done extensive inspection work for various insurance companies. Agents call on him for advice on safety issues; and Claims Adjusters have tapped him for his insights concerning fire damage claims and repairs.
Tim has given presentations concerning wood stove and chimney safety in many venues including regional meetings of NEPCA insurance agents and adjustors; and has promoted chimney safety awareness at local parades, schools, fairs and other community events.
From its beginning to today, Thomas’ Chimney and Stoves, LLC has been a family owned and operated business with Tim’s wife, Stephanie, the full time office manager, and all four of their children having active roles over the years. Today, Thomas’ Chimney and Stoves, LLC continues our high level of customer satisfaction working with our reliable, long time employees who continue to be an integral part of TCS … leaders in chimney construction and renovation.
